Emma Watson takes the Knuckle Up Title
(17.07.11) Knuckle Up: New Breed 7 saw Emma Watson of Leeds Cage take on Helena Martin of Combat Company for the women's title at 63 kg in Bath. This was the first time that the Knuckle Up title has been contested and it was an impressive fight.
After a long fought bout both women found themselves standing
waiting for the decision from the judges. When it came the fight was scored as
a unanimous decision in favour of the Leeds based fighter, Emma Watson.
Emma had this to say to Cage Queen, "With the fight I was fighting out of
my weight category with there being a lack of female fighters. To have
fights normally I've had to travel abroad and wanting a fight in England I took
this fight above my weight category so my friends and family can come and watch
to support me! Going into the fight I knew I was the underdog to Helena and she
had also fought on Knuckle Up before...their people knew of her and that; however
thanks to the coaches and guys down at Leeds Cage I was able to lift the title!"
Congratulations to Emma for her well fought win and on taking the women's
Knuckle Up title.
